Hyatt Hotels Corporation is an American multinational hospitality company that manages and franchises luxury hotels, resorts, and vacation properties.
The Challenge:
To complement their existing spa classes and offerings, Hyatt Hotels and Spas were looking for specialized branded yoga programming for fitness-conscious business and leisure travelers on-site. The job was to create a signature menu of programs that were specifically targeted for the recuperative needs of their guests, including stress reduction, mental focus, physical fitness, and sleep enhancement. These programs needed to include supporting products for hotel and spa guests.
The Solution:
Bija, as the Founder and President of YogaAway, LLC, hired and trained instructors and therapists in a specialized methodology designed to deal with particular structural issues, physiological challenges, and the mental/emotional needs of Hyatt’s demographic. Her team designed and implemented customized group and private yoga classes and practices, along with accompanying DVD’s and CD’s along with branded yoga mats and bags. Courses were presented as integral curricula of lifestyle programs, including group fitness and signature yoga classes; sleep enhancement sessions; meditation and wellness programs.
The Results:
Specialized YogaAway classes were offered 3 to 5 times per day in approximately 125 domestic resort spas. Taught by specially trained yoga instructors, YogaAway classes included regularly scheduled group, special group (corporate), and private yoga sessions for Hyatt guests. A line of a series of retail products — CD’s, DVD’s, yoga mats and travel bags — were available for retail sales in all domestic and international properties.
